A Moment with Msgr. Woy 2/6/22

I am pleased that Fr. Kevin Ewing, director of campus ministry at Towson University, has agreed to lead our pastorate’s Lenten Mission from April 3rd through April 6th. He will preach at all Masses on April 2nd and 3rd, lead a prayer service, and offer a reflection each evening (MTW) at 7 PM in the Church. Save the date!

Both parishes could use a new purple chasuble (Mass vestment) for Lent. The cost of a nice but simple vestment is $500. They are not cheap! If you would like to donate towards the purchase of a new vestment, please let me know or contact the parish office.

We will continue to encourage those attending Mass to wear a mask to help mitigate the spread of the COVID virus. Thankfully, the positivity rate is slowly dropping in our area. Let’s help protect our neighbors, especially the youngest in our midst, by wearing a mask. Slowly but surely, in-person activities are being resumed in our parishes.

Synod 2021-2023:  Pope Francis has called for a global synod for the Catholic Church. Synod is a Greek word meaning “journeying together.” The Holy Father is hoping that this will be the biggest “listening session” in the history of our church. The hope is to get feedback and hear from people who make up our church communities, such as our parishes, Prince of Peace, and St. Francis de Sales. The three goals for our synod sessions are to become more united, to encourage greater participation, and to reevaluate our mission. Stay tuned for details and the dates for listening sessions to be held in March.

Have a Good Week!
