Baptism

Attendance at one baptismal preparation session is required before Baptism can be scheduled. Preparation may begin any time during pregnancy.

Choosing a Godparent(s) for your child is an important duty for parents. Godparents are entrusted with the responsibility (along with parents) of raising the child in the Catholic faith; passing on the heritage of our faith. Choose Godparent(s) who will be a real and long-lasting help in the Catholic-Christian formation of your child. At least one Godparent should be over the age of 16, Confirmed in the Catholic faith, and currently practicing their faith, including weekly mass attendance.  Others must be baptized in the Christian faith.

To register for the Baptismal class and schedule a Baptism, please call Linda Midwig at 410-676-5119 ext. 110 or email: Linda.Midwig@archbalt.org. You can begin the process by following the instructions below:

Fill out the Baptism Registration form to begin scheduling a baptism. This form must be completed and returned.

  • The desired baptism date will need to be approved.
  • All forms will need to be completed and verified at least two weeks before the baptism date.
  • Click Baptism Guidelines for Infants to Under 7 to review the requirements.
  • Click on the SFDS Godparent Eligibility form. Each Godparent/Sponsor must fill out a form. This must be verified by the Godparent/Sponsor’s church.
