First Reconciliation – First Eucharist

To receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation and/or First Eucharist (First Communion), the Archdiocesan guidelines recommend that children be in second grade or higher and have at least one sequential year of prior Religious Education experience in addition to the current year’s instruction. Involvement in a parish Religious Education program, a Home-Study program, or attendance in a Catholic school serves as experience. Preparations for these sacraments usually begin during 2nd grade.
