As we ended the July edition of Francis Facts, it was noted that St Francis had already had a dream of the widow Jane de Chantal. They were very alike people and became friends. Both saints had strong unions with God and strived for complete holiness. They both continued their path towards sainthood through their friendship, supporting each other on their spiritual journeys. Saint Jane requested that Saint Francis take over her spiritual direction yet Francis was reticent at first saying “I had to know fully what God himself wanted. I had to be sure that everything in this should be done as though His hand had done it.” In fact it was Saint Jane’s part towards mystical union that influenced Francis to become a mystic also. Francis continually taught patience in his meditations and advised “that you put behind you, as best you can, all that consciously or unconsciously stands between you and God”.
REMEMBER WE ARE ST. FRANCIS!!
