Religious Education / Faith Formation Registration Form

Dear Parents;

As we prepare to end another year of our formal Faith Formation classes, it is time to pre-register for the next year. We ask every family participating in our programs to register each year in order to update and verify the information on hand in the Faith Formation office.

Class schedules will be as follows:

· Pre-K does not meet during the week, and those children are invited to participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word at either the 9am or 11am weekend masses.

· Grades K-5 will meet on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6 pm to 7:05 pm. Class size will be limited to 16 students.

· Grades 6-8 will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

· High School/Confirmation will follow a 3 separate 6 week session in Fall, Winter, and Spring session; in addition to other mandatory requirements. Class selection will be made at an Orientation Meeting in the Fall. Details on the Orientation Meeting, program requirements and the High School/Confirmation registration forms will be mailed in July.

· Faith Formation for Special Needs Children: Do you have a child who has special needs and a regular classroom setting doesn’t work for them. There is a special needs class that meets on Wednesday evening 6-7:05. For further information please contact Betty Burlin 410-676-5119 Ext 122

· PLEASE NOTE: Because of a strain on resources, including materials, Catechists, and Catechist aides; any classes that do not have 6 or more registered students by September 1, 2013 will be cancelled and children will be asked to move to another night.

Tuition rates will remain the same, please refer to the rates listed on the registration form. It is important to note that religious education fees pay for supplies, books, and activities that are done throughout the school year. Many of these items must be purchased before classes begin. Tuition fees also help cover the utility costs of the Education Building.

All registration forms should be mailed or dropped off at the parish office at your earliest convenience. Please use the 2012-2013 registration form attached or you can download the registration form from www.stfrancisabingdon.org. Please fill this form out completely before returning it, including sacramental needs and email address. Both Catechists and Coordinators of Faith Formation utilize emails for reminders of upcoming events, weather related closings, and communications regarding your child(ren). In July, an additional registration form will be mailed for High School/Confirmation; however, the attached form will help with the calculation of tuition due for all students in a family enrolled in 2012-2013 K-8 and High School Faith Formation.

The 2013-2014 Registration schedule provides early bird discounts for class fees only.

· Families who register and pay in full by July 19, 2013, will receive a $30 discount* on class fees and be given priority status for their first choice of class night. Priority status does not apply for High School/Confirmation classes, selections will be made at the Fall Orientation Meeting.

· Families who register and pay in full by August 30, 2013, will receive a $15 discount* on class fees.

· Home Study families will receive a $10 discount* if paid in full by August 30, 2013.

· Families who register and pay in full after August 30, 2013, are not eligible for discounts and class placement is made on availability.

· *Only families that have fulfilled their financial obligation for previous religious education years are eligible for early registration and discounts. Discounts do not apply to Sacramental costs.

· If there is a financial hardship in paying previous years or current year tuition, please contact the parish office and we will work out a payment schedule on a case by case basis.

Faith Formation calendars and room assignments will be mailed at the end of August.
